Pink Ribbon - 18th August 2009

Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide and the UK.  Especially in highly developed countries like our own. This week in the UK approximately 750 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  It will be the same next week and the next and the next, totalling over 41,000 new cases diagnosed each year.

For women, the lifetime risk of being diagnosed is about 1 in 9. It is believed that Britain now has the highest breast cancer mortality rate in the world. This week 250 over women in the UK will die of Breast Cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and our Fundraising Managers Stella, Louise and Tracey from the Countryside Directory will be contacting as many businesses as they can to gain support, awareness and funds for this wonderful charity.
