Website & Services Terms and Conditions

Payment Terms & Conditions

The Countryside Directory operates a strict payment within 14 days policy unless agreed in writing prior to the advert being placed. All invoices include value added tax (VAT) which will be added to invoice where appropriate at the current rate set by HMRC.

Payment of all invoices due shall be made payable to “Countryside Directory” by cheque or transferred electronically by Bank Transfer, Nochex or PayPal. The Advertiser shall together with payment supply full details of remittance specifying the invoice number or advert ID number.

If the invoice is disputed by the customer, the customer shall inform the Countryside Directory of the grounds for such dispute in writing within seven days from the day that the service commences and shall pay to the Company the value of the invoice less the disputed amount in accordance with these payment terms.

After the 14 day period has lapsed we will attempt to make contact regarding late payment. It will be at our company’s discretion to extend the length of payment period in certain circumstances. Any extension will be for a period of 7 days. If an invoice remains unsettled after a period of 21 days we will again attempt to make contact for immediate payment, failure to make a payment immediately will result in an administration charge and possible interest charges. The sum of £25 is the administration charge in respect of each invoice not paid on or before the due date. After a period of 28 days we will consider this to be in breach of the advertisers agreement with ourselves and will take further action, this may result in unpaid accounts being passed to a Debt Recovery Agency. The result of further action will incur further charges and possible legal action.

We reserve the right to claim statutory interest at 8.5% above the Bank of England reference rate in force on the date the debt becomes overdue and at any subsequent rate where the reference rate changes and the debt remains unpaid in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 as amended and supplemented by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Regulations 2002. If a cheque is returned unpaid, a fee of £8 will be charged to the account.
